The faces behind Caledonian Maintenance
Andrew’s father, Andrew T McIntyre and Andrew F McMillan started the business in 1984 after they had accumulated 35 years experience of the contract cleaning business. Although both have since retired the family ties still run strong.
Managing Director Andrew W T McIntyre followed his father into the business in 1990 after a successful career with Strathclyde Buses.
He joined the company as General Manager and was then appointed Managing Director. He has been responsible for the expansion of the company and the diversification of it services and product range.
Among other innovations, Andrew introduced Common Stair Cleaning, which has become one of the company’s core services.
He takes the lead role in contract negotiations and tendering for major contracts, as well as overall responsibility for the smooth running of the business.
Director Jim McLaughlin. Jim has extensive hands-on experience of the cleaning business having started as a window cleaner himself, before taking on a range of supervisor roles with private and public sectors, then joining Caledonian Cleaning in 1989.
Since joining Caledonian Cleaning Jim has held a range of positions including Window Cleaning Supervisor, Window Cleaning Manager, Contracts Manager and General Manager prior to being appointed Director.
His responsibilities encompass a wide range of senior management functions including overseeing managers and supervisors, quality control and customer relations.
General Manager Andrew J McIntyre. Andrew is the third generation of the McIntyre family actively involved in business.
He joined the company in 2003 after completing his studies into Internet Technology at Paisley University.
In addition to his general management responsibilities he runs the company’s training programmes with particular emphasis on Health and Safety.
Craig McNab was Managing Director of CMC Landscaping until it was taken over by Caledonian in 2011.Craig, a civil engineering graduate, joined the board of Caledonian following the takeover and is now running our grounds maintenance division..
